Jenni Johnson, M. Ed.

Jenni is an experienced professional with a background in college admissions counseling, college access and success, academic advising, student affairs, and residence life.  Jenni has a wealth of experience collaborating with students and families to enroll in and achieve success in college. Throughout her career, she has been committed to assisting students access higher education and achieve success through mentorship, training, and development. Her experience in both high school and college settings provides her with a unique perspective that influences the programming she creates to advise students in the college admissions and financial aid process.  Jenni takes pride in making the college application process accessible to everyone.  Through her work in public and private sectors, she has peeled back the curtain of higher education for hundreds of students and families. 

Jenni’s passion for equity makes her a champion for under resourced students.  She has served the college admissions counseling community through her involvement in the Southern Association of College Admissions Counselors (SACAC).  Jenni has collaborated with colleagues to deliver training in support of underrepresented students on their journey to and through college.  She also co-authored a policy guide to assist school counselors in advising undocumented students through the college admissions process. Jenni believes that the college application process should center around enrolling in the college that is the best academic, social, and financial fit for the student.  Time and experience have taught her that students who enroll in best-fit institutions go on to thrive academically and socially.

Jenni earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Education from North Carolina State University.  Jenni is actively involved in her church and enjoys spending time with her family and watching sports, especially football and basketball.  Jenni’s most important role is that of wife and mother to her two sons.
